The ball valve is your variable speed / safety control. It should be used more as a safety shut off, than a speed control. It is best to control the speed from the hydraulics on the tractor.

Our wire winder’s hydraulic motor, provides ample power for hard jobs, like pulling barbed wire through tall grass. This motor will create roughly 12 horse power, that will easily pull old wire up out of the grass and trash that collects in a fence line over the years.
