Somubac

For cattle producers, SOMUBAC® helps protect calves and adult cattle against respiratory disease caused by Haemophilus somnus (Histophilus somni).

• Helps protect calves and adult cattle against H. somni, a contributor to respiratory disease and the cause of thrombotic meningoencephalitis (TEME) and reproductive tract infection.
• Contains three inactivated H. somni isolates – from respiratory, reproductive and nervous tissue.

For use with:

• Dairy
• Beef

Dosage & Administration

• Shake well before using. Administer a single 2-mL dose subcutaneously to healthy cattle 3 months of age or older, followed by a second dose two to four weeks later. In accordance with Beef Quality Assurance guidelines, this product should be administered subcutaneously (SC) under the skin. Annual revaccination with a single dose is recommended.

Precautions

• Store at 2°–7°C. Do not freeze.
• Use entire contents when first opened.
• Sterilized syringes and needles should be used to administer this vaccine.
• Do not vaccinate within 21 days before slaughter.
• As with many vaccines, anaphylaxis may occur after use. Initial antidote of epinephrine is recommended and should be followed with appropriate supportive therapy.
