Strepvax II Streptococcus Equi Bacterial Extract

STREPVAX® II is an injectable strangles vaccine that is easy to use, no reconstitution needed. It has been shown to be effective for the vaccination of healthy horses againstStreptococcus equi infection (strangles). Concentrated aluminum hydroxide-absorbed suspension of purified antigens derived from Streptococcus equi cells. Contains the antigenic protein of S. equi but is free of the toxic and irritant substances present in whole-cell bacterins

• Contains a purified antigenic protein of S. equi extracted through an exclusive process and is essentially free of the toxic and irritating substances present in whole cell bacterins
• Promotes phagocyte destruction of virulent S. equi. Phagocytes are cells that are capable of engulfing and absorbing bacteria and other small cells and particles

Shake bottle well. Using aseptic technique, inject 1 mL intramuscularly, preferably in the hindquarters. Use a separate sterile needle for each injection.

For primary vaccination, give 3 doses at intervals of 3 weeks.

The presence of maternal antibodies is known to interfere with the development of active immunity in horses and additional boosters will be required in most young animals. The need for annual booster vaccination has not been established for this product. For advice on revaccination frequency, contact your veterinarian.

• Do not freeze
• Do not mix with other products
• Use entire contents when first opened
• Do not vaccinate within 21 days before slaughter
